Posted by: Mrs. P | December 1, 2009 | No Comment |

Hello and welcome to High School Biology with your teacher, Mrs. Prochazka.  I am officially back and ready to help you all master the necessary content you will need to know about Biology (the study of life).  Before we get right into notes with Chapter 5 I would like to review the Biology course syllabus and visit the class website.  Today you will have the opportunity to test your computer skills and navigation with this Biology class website by completing a group Scavenger Hunt.  The 1st team that finishes, with the most correct answers, will receive a NO HOMEWORK PASS for each student in the group that actively participated.  Good luck : )

Fall 2009: WELCOME BIOLOGY STUDENTS

Posted by: Mrs. P | August 20, 2009 | No Comment |

Hello and welcome to the 2009-2010 Biology class session with Mrs. Prochazka.  This website will provide you with the most important things needed to pass Biology and keep you organized on the material being covered in class.  All power point lecture notes will be downloaded under the “BIO NOTES” tab above for you to access on a regular basis.  Feel free to visit the website often and print out the notes if needed.  When you are absent visit the “BIO Assignments” tab above to find out what you missed.

Although Mrs. Prochazka will be out on family/medical leave until December 1st you can still access this website and feel free to e-mail her with any questions or concerns at mprochaz@wcboe.org.  Just remember that Ms. Jenkins, the Biology substitute, will be officially teaching the class and grading assignments that will be reflected on the report cards.  Make sure to keep up with the reading assignments, vocabulary, and most importantly STUDY!!!  The Biology course syllabus, given to you in class, will be an extremely useful piece of information to keep in your notebook and refer back to multiple times.  Specifically, all class expectations, the grading policy, and most importantly the content that will be taught and tested on the Biology HSA can be found in the course syllabus.

Each student will receive a Biology text book which should remain at home.  There are classroom textbooks which will remain inthe classrooma and are issued based on your seat number.  There is also a textbook website that should be accessed on a regular basis to practice skills for each section of the chapters in the book at www.classzone.com.  Best wishes for a very successful and productive school year!!!
